Victoria Vandamm has been a major force in the northeast design field for more than 40 years. She is well known for her use of color, the ability to see beyond the obvious, and to elegantly mix old and new to please her client’s tastes. Her institutional knowledge of the interior design world…. fabrics, furnishings, lighting, and so on, is well known throughout the industry.
She purchased the Greenwich, CT franchise of the Nettle Creek Shop in 1978. She grew that business nationally with design studios in Boston, Los Angles and West Palm Beach. Years later she moved the business to Greenwich Avenue and changed the name to Vandamm Interiors. She serves clients from Maine to Florida, and across the country to California. Victoria has done renovations in and around Newport including a complete renovation and interior design of a house on the Historic Hill in Newport.
Victoria has worked internationally in Monaco, France, England and the Maldives. In the Maldives she oversaw the entire interior design of a mini cruise vessel. She has consulted on numerous yacht interiors; notables include a Swan 82 and a SW96. Being an avid skier, she jumped at the opportunities of redoing the two highest houses on Stratton Mountain. One of which she was responsible for exterior look and finish, as well as the full interior.
Her work and articles have been published in the New York Times, American Home Style, New England Home, and CT Cottages and Gardens. She has participated in numerous show houses. Two in Greenwich, the Merrywood Designer Showhouse, and The Seven Oaks, were particularly enjoyable, as she had the anchor rooms in both. Victoria has participated in many fund raiser vignette displays from Greenwich out to Old Lyme, CT, including twice in the “Rooms with a View” in Southport, CT.
Victoria is a Pro member of HOUZZ, the on-line designer website. She is a Pro consultant to AlphaSights, consulting to the industry in the interior design sector. She has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Lockwood Mathews Mansion Museum for over 20 years.
